Florence is Leeds College of Art alumni where she gained a First class BA Honours in Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design. Her personal practice stems from a love of drawing and painting with gouache, work focused on producing intricate imagery in a delicate, detailed manner. Florence then translates drawings into designs through digital manipulation, ensuring her work preserves the quality and intricacy that inspired initial drawings, as she takes pride in retaining a hand-done aesthetic. Florence aspires to execute bold, intriguing designs, through bright colour application and ornamental detail, highlighting a harmony between hand done processes and digital print.
Florence’s latest collection is meticulously built from hand drawn imagery and intricate gouache paintings. The collection, printed onto luxurious silks, celebrates the intricacy of Victorian Ornament, an aesthetic that is seen as classically beautiful.
Florence's collections have been showcased at Leeds College of Art’s Degree Show, at New Designers Part 1 at the Business Design Centre, London, as well as gaining international recognition at Intertextile - Shanghai, Indigo - Paris, MareDiModa - Cannes and Italy.
